Feeling Through Analysis: Most Important Moment

     In this moment, the filmmakers relied on the use of non-diegetic music to communicate the change undergoing within Tereek. 

    At this point in the story, Tereek has been identified as a homeless man within the city who is looking for a place to sleep at for the night. When Tereek is on the street, he notices a man holding a sign which says that he is blind and deaf. Tereek helps the man get to the bus stop and uses his money to buy the man water but also steals a small amount of money from his wallet. The man introduces himself as Artie. Tereek eventually gets Artie on the bus and becomes friends with him. Tereek leaves the bus stop with the money he stole and says a homeless man sleeping on the sidewalk. Tereek puts the money in the donation cup for the homeless man and walks away. During this moment, the music of the short film is calm and uplifting, with heavenly music playing in the background while Tereek walks away. 

    This filming technique within the film serves as an emotional appeal to the audience because the music is formatted as a type of calm heavenly music with soft guitars in the background to add calm beats. This happens when Tereek puts money in a homeless man's cup when he himself is homeless creates a sense of humbleness in Tereek which the viewers would feel inspired by his actions. The music helps provide the sense of inspiration and can create emotion within the scene. 

    The music is also seen throughout the film, this is because the film wants to emphasize Tereek's hardships of being homeless.

Caroline Analysis: Most Important Moment

     In the short film Caroline, the mother has to attend an interview and leaves Caroline and the 2 kids in her locked car. The kids in the car become hot and sweaty because it is very hot outside and there is no air conditioning. Caroline has the keys of the car but doesn't know what to do with them. After being left in the car, the kids became hot and worried about what was happening. Caroline tried calming them down by talking about the kids show PJ Masks. In this scene, there was a large use of handheld close-up shots that was meant to show the panic of the kids because of the shakiness of the camera.      The directors of the film used this camera technique to demonstrate what was going through of the kids trapped in the car.
